At Andover Veterinary Clinic and Boarding Kennel we are honored to be an active member of the Andover Community. Since 1969, Dr Cathy and Dr Gary Harmon have been leaders in the community. They have served on the Board of Education, were members of the Kiwanis Club and are currently members of the Rotary Club. Dr Gary currently is a member of the Tri-County CASA (court appointed special advocate), advocating for the best interest of children in the court system. They also hold multiple leadership roles in their church.
One area we are especially proud of is our involvement in the local schools. Our veterinarians visit assorted classes to teach lung, heart and eye dissections to the students. We also offer tours of our hospital to groups like Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, summer program classes, and local elementary classes. We show the students and program members a behind the scenes look at how we care for pets and also teaching them animal safety. We have even participated in career fairs and held assemblies for the entire school, bringing along pet ambassadors for the children to interact with and learn how to properly approach unfamiliar pets.
